Maddy and Nat’s destination wedding in Puglia was built around a single colour.
Red ran through everything, from the lanterns above a whitewashed masseria courtyard to the textiles, the chairs, and the taffeta spilling across the dessert table beneath an old olive tree. An entire world built around a colour. Sensory, cinematic, sultry.
Perfect for a bride with a Priscilla Presley meets Lana Del Rey aura, and a groom straight out of a vintage ’70s fashion magazine.
The day began in white. A ceremony beneath sheer drapes and late sun, then a shower of red petals as they walked back down the aisle. From there, the colour took over. Striped aperitivo tables piled with focaccia, olives, sculpted butter and gerberas. The reception, Scarlet Red tables and bold chairs set against prickly pear cactus and wild green grasses.
By nightfall, the lanterns glowed above the courtyard as guests ate pasta and drank red wine. Handmade candles burned low, spilling wax onto the cloth. Dinner was over. Time to dance.
The music drew guests between the trulli towards a dance floor draped in red textiles. A little den of red disco lights and bodies moving. Then the champagne tower. One of Nat’s only requests, which he poured for his bride and their guests as the music built ahead of their first dance.
Bold, sensual, sexy and unapologetically original. An avant-garde wedding captured on film and Super 8, with every detail drawing guests further into Maddy and Nat’s world. From the first Aperol spritz to the last martini and sore feet.
